Problems/Comments

Petroleum hydrocarbon contamination was present in site soils at several locations. No groundwater contamination was identified. The 266-acre FAA Shuyak Island facility was a land withdrawal from BLM and was returned to BLM following facility closure. The long abandoned station incorporates several different sites associated with the facility. These are identified in a May 1994 E&E report as the: H-Marker/Quarters Facility, Septic System and Outlet Site, Vehicle Shop Building 600 Site, Water Pump Buildings. 601 and 602 Sites, Storage Building 200 Site, Paints Storage Building Site, Unidentified Structure Site, and Northwest Debris Site.
