Problems/Comments

Petroleum hydrocarbon contamination detected in March of 1988 during a ADOT site assessment. Gasoline/diesel/used oil contaminated soils & groundwater documented in December 1988. Approximately 1000 cubic yards of contaminated soils removed and new tanks installed during facility upgrade in 1989. The excavated contaminated soils were thermally treated. Another used oil tank was removed in 1994. Some soil contamination (900 mg/kg DRO) was identified in 1994 as remaining at 11 feet below ground surface below the station building at the location of a former used oil tank that was removed in 1994. All groundwater samples meet cleanup levels and all monitoring wells have been decommissioned in accordance with an approved plan. ADEC has determined that the contaminant concentrations remaining at the site do not pose an unacceptable risk to human health or the environment, and the site was closed on October 6, 2011. F.K.A.
