Problems/Comments

Contaminated soils found at site during 950 gallon gasoline and 950 gallon diesel UST removals on September 4, 1996. Both UST's supplied fuel for company vehicles. All four soil samples analyzed were collected at 7.5' bgs, beneath UST's and at excavation pit floor. One sample (beneath diesel UST) confirmed GRO and DRO above MTG, but below HH. All other three samples confirmed only benzene above MTG & below HH. GW not encountered. Further assessment work was conducted in 2002 and included re-excavation, field-screening and laboratory analysis of soil samples. First stockpile (soil: 0' to 6' bgs) confirmed BTEX, GRO, DRO below MTG or non-detect concentrations (one soil sample analyzed). Second stockpile (6'-10' bgs) confirmed BTEX, GRO, DRO below MTG or non-detect concentrations (two soil samples). GW encountered at 10' bgs (excavation bottom) and no sheen noted. Stockpiled soil backfilled with additional 7cy of clean fill into excavation pit. F.K.A. L55.86
