Problems/Comments

Site Assessment during the closure by removal of a 1,000 gallon gasoline UST and a 1,000 galllon diesel UST. Diesel soil contamination reached 7,000 mg/kg and gasoline soil contamination up to 210 mg/kg.

8/1/2007 Site Visit Site Visit - All structures have been removed and the site has been leveled. Runoff water from the hillside is diverted around the property in a ditch where it eventually enters the storm drain system. It discharges through a nearby small wetland and then into marine waters. The biocell has been constructed at the Granite Creek Quarry. No leachate was observed; the soil was last tilled at the end of June. No odors or visible signs of contamination present. Bill Janes
1/14/2008 Update or Other Action Cleanup complete determination issued this date with site-specific method 3 migration to groundwater cleanup levels for DRO. Site will remain in "open" status until the Granite Creek quarry bioremedation stockpile soil reaches applicable cleanup levels. Pre-approval issued to use the soil for cover material at the nearby waste water sludge disposal area once cleanup levels have been met. Bill Janes
5/8/2008 Update or Other Action DRO/RRO sampling results for the Granite Creek stockpile received. FIve of the ten samples exceed method 2 but all samples are below the approved method 3 cleanup level. City given the option of further treatment and re-sampling or using the material as cover for the nearby biosolids disposal site. Bill Janes
10/15/2008 Cleanup Complete Determination Issued Granite Creek soil stockpile concentrations now meet method 2 migration to groundwater cleanup levels. Bill Janes
