Problems/Comments

This site is the site of a former Texaco gas station. Petroleum contamination was discovered during a facility upgrade in 1991. In 1999 a partial release investigation and cleanup were conducted during which 197.7 tons of contaminated soil were excavated and taken off site for treatment. The 1999 cleanup and partial release investigation indicated that soil contamination remained at the site. Samples taken from the limit of the excavation contained concentrations of benzene up to 25 mg/kg and gasoline range organics (GRO) up to 5100 mg/kg. There is a drinking water well on site which contained 0.31 ppm total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) when it was sampled in 1991, however no groundwater investigation has been conducted at the site to date. It is not currently known if the well is connected to one or multiple buildings or is in working condition. There is one building on the site: an "office" building, which may have formerly been a convenience store for the gas station, however no vapor intrusion investigation has been conducted. Current site use is unknown. The RP was issued a notice of violation in 1999 for failure to conduct further release investigation to define the extent of the remaining soil and groundwater contamination at the site.
