Problems/Comments

On January 16, 2009, the fuel filter housing for a 300-gallon aboveground heating oil tank froze and cracked, releasing approximately 200 gallons of diesel to the ground surface and beneath the skirted mobile home. An on-site drinking water well is reportedly located beneath the house. Snow and leaf litter were removed and transported to Organic Incineration Technology, Inc. (OIT) for disposal, but no soil was removed or sampled during the initial response. One drinking water sample was collected and sampled for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX); results were non-detect. The physical address of the site where the release occured is 1104 Vincent Court. The physical address for an adjacent vacant lot is 1118 Vincent Court. According to the property owner, when the land was subdivided, separate addresses were assigned, but the owners of the residence on 1104 Vincent Court continued to use the mailing address of 1118 Vincent Court.
