Problems/Comments

On July 21, 2009 an Environmental Site Assessment was done to bring underground storage tank (UST) #4 at the AT&T Bartlett Earth Station into temporary closure status. The sub-surface was investigated to determine if a petroleum relaease associated with this UST and the associated piping had occurred. Six soil samples and one duplicate were collected. The samples were tested for DRO, GRO and BTEX. The only contaminant detected was DRO at 28.5 mg/kg near the fill pipe.

1/21/2014 Document, Report, or Work plan Review - other On June 27, 2013, a 10,000-gallon fiberglass underground storage tank (UST), utilized for the storage of diesel fuel, was removed from this site. During the UST removal activities, the excavated soils were field screened with a photoionization detector (PID) and temporarily stockpiled on site. After the UST was removed from the ground it was hauled offsite for disposal. A total of 9 confirmation soil samples (4 from below the tank, 1 from below the piping, and 4 from the stockpiled soils), and a duplicate soil sample (from below the tank), were submitted for laboratory analysis. The confirmation samples were analyzed for gasoline range organics (GRO), diesel range organics (DRO), residual range organics (RRO), and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX). One soil sample, collected from the stockpile, was also analyzed for polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). Concentrations of RRO and Several PAHs were present in the soil sample; however, at concentrations well below the approved cleanup levels. Joshua Barsis
