Problems/Comments

Site was originally reported on 8/1/13. The THRHA purchased 3 lots in the Lemon Creek area that had been used for car repairs and junk storage. The THRHA hired CDI to do an environmental assessment on Lots 3, 4, and 5, Lemon Glacier 2 Subdivision which confirmed petroleum-contaminated soil above DEC cleanup levels. The lots were previously used as a location to conduct car repairs and for junk storage.

2/19/2014 Document, Report, or Work plan Review - other Rec'd site cleanup report and reviewed in preparation for site closure. Danielle Duncan
2/20/2014 Cleanup Complete Determination Issued Soil sample results indicated one exceedance (420 mg/kg) of the Migration to Groundwater cleanup level for DRO (sample TP-6); however sampling from groundwater wells verified that concentrations of DRO in groundwater are below the Table C value. In addition, the estimated volume remaining in the area of TP-6 is limited and estimated at 2-3 cubic yards located between 1 and 2.5 ft below ground surface. Furthermore, the concentration, while reported in the diesel range, was indicative of a heavier oil profile (RRO) which has no migration to groundwater potential at that level. Furthermore, this exceedance is well below the human health ingestion level of 8250 mg/kg DRO and falls under the category of de minimis exposure. All RRO concentrations at the site are well below the cleanup levels for both soil and groundwater. This site will receive a “Closed” designation on the Contaminated Sites Database, subject to the following standard conditions. Danielle Duncan
2/21/2014 Update or Other Action Per Jolene Cox (CDI) and Sarah Moore (DEC) site had originally been confused with spill # 08119909301 occuring on 4/2/08 where an underground tank being stored across the street and in a diffferent location began leaking in a storage yard. THRHA did not own these lots (Lots 3, 4, and 5) at that time. I have since edited the problem/comment section of this database entry and the closure letter to reflect this accurate information. Danielle Duncan
