Problems/Comments

In August 2014 fuel was reported in the crawlspace of a residence at 1603 27th Avenue. A membrane and ventilation system was installed in the crawlspace to mitigate vapor intrusion into the residential structure, and a 500-gallon underground storage tank (UST) used for heating was replaced along with the fuel lines connecting it to the boiler. During initial excavation activities 12 inches of fuel were found on the groundwater. Two vertical product recovery wells were installed and 5 super-sacks of petroleum-contaminated soil were removed and transported off site for thermal treatment. No analytical samples or field screening data were collected during the UST removal.
