Problems/Comments

During a well replugging and abandoning effort at the Point Thompson State C1 Pad, Exxon encountered an area around the historical well cellar that appeared to be contaminated. Contaminated gravel (~160 cubic yards) was removed to about 2-3 feet below the pad surface and disposed of at the Prudhoe Bay Grind and Inject facility. Five samples were collected for GRO/DRO/RRO/BTEX with concentrations up to 170 mg/kg, 2,100 mg/kg, and 2,900 mg/kg respectively (benzene less than 0.5 mg/kg and BTEX less than 15 mg/kg) . Continued use of the pad for storage and staging is planned.
