Problems/Comments

Heating Oil and emergency generator supply UST taken out of service. No field screening or piping assessment. Lab analysis of excavation closure samples indicates residual DRO contamination, not analyzed for BTEX compounds. 100 cubic yards excavated soils transported to Sitka City and Borough Landfill for storage. Tank was removed July 1999. Originally placed on the LUST database but transferred to CS. Records of piping assessment, excavated soil analysis, and department approval to transport and plan to store contaminated soil at landfill not on file. With current transfer to CS database, reporting violations fall under 18 AAC 75.300 and disposal of contaminated soil violations fall under 18 AAC 75.370. Current status of impacted soil is unknown. LUST was replaced with Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic Double-Walled Heating Oil 8000 gallon UST with ATG release detection. Facility ID 3299.
