Problems/Comments

The Airport Power Plant and Utility Tank Farm is located on the south side of the Airport runway. At the time of a 2001 investigation as part of the TAPL Bulk Fuel Upgrade Program and assessments, there were two 6,000-gallon skid-mounted diesel tanks on the west side of the building. Two additional 6,000-gallon tanks for school reserves, and two 2,000-gallon gasoline and diesel tanks were also onsite. Two potentially buried tanks were believed present but not confirmed. Drums are also reported to be stored at the site. Near surface contamination was identified and associated with onsite fuel management activities. Staining was present around the floor of the building and diesel range contamination was identified in soil above cleanup levels. As of 2015, no further cleanup activities have taken place.
