Problems/Comments

OT04 Road Oiling potential contaminant and materials involved included: waste oil, ethylene glycol, possibly solvents, and shop residues. Operation dates from 1950s to 1970s. 1/1/1985 Preliminary Assessment Approved Site assessment by Engineering Science entitled "IRP Phase I Report, Southern Region LRRS", prepared for the USAF Engineering Service Center. The site assessment identified six potentially contaminated areas at the site. The report recommended follow-up action for the site. Former Staff
8/26/1987 Update or Other Action Site visit made by Woodward Clyde and U.S. Air Force personnel to the site in August 1987. The purpose was to gather further assessment information at the site to support a no further action document (NFAD). Former Staff
1/1/1988 Update or Other Action (Old R:Base Action Code = SI - Site Investigation). Site visit and sampling conducted by Ecological Services, Anchorage. PCBs up to 3096 ppm discovered in the soil. Former Staff
2/9/1988 Record of Decision Record of Decision signed by 11th Tactical Control Group, ADEC, and EPA Region 10 in February 1988 for No Further Action at 6 sites. These sites include: Waste Accumulation Area 1&2 (portion of LF03); Upper Camp Dump (WP06); Road Oiling (OT04); Waste Accumulation Area 3 (SS01); White Alice Site (OT05); and Lower Camp Landfill (LF02). Two report copies with 2 different cover pages but signed by agencies in February 1988: U.S. Air Force Installation Restoration Program Decision Paper for No Further Action (dated February 5, 1988); and Installation Restoration Program Technical Support Document for Record of Decision (undated).
