Surface waters may be threatened. Quantities released, dates released, extent of contamination unknown. Camco spilled approximately 750 gallons of diesel heating fuel to pad. All contaminated gravel were excavated during summer 1992. Contamination above cleanup levels beneath building. Patented state land. State ID # AK 90100801. Remediation (gravel washing) has begun, but due to weather it should be completed by Fall 1993. Cross reference file # 300.02.080.

12/6/2007 Conditional Closure Approved The Department of Environmental Conservation, Contaminated Sites Program (ADEC) reviewed the environmental records associated with the former CAMCO Pad in Deadhorse, Alaska. This site had been contaminated by the release of a hazardous substance; however, based on the information provided to date, ADEC has determined that no further remedial action is required, and that the former CAMCO Pad can be closed subject to the conditions outlined in the Record of Decision The hazardous substance contamination has been adequately addressed and does not pose an unacceptable risk to human health or the environment. Bill O'Connell
12/6/2007 Institutional Control Record Established There is contamination remaining above established cleanup levels at the former CAMCO Pad but ADEC has determined there is no unacceptable risk to human health or the environment, and this site will be conditionally closed. This decision is subject to the following conditions: 1. A Notice of Environmental Contamination will be recorded on the ADEC database to document that there is residual contamination remaining on site above the most stringent ADEC cleanup levels; 2. Any proposal to transport soil off site requires ADEC approval in accordance with 18 AAC 78.274(b) Bill O'Connell
7/28/2010 Site Reopened This site is reopened to track the investigation and potential removal of contaminated sediment along the southeastern edge of the pad. Bill O'Connell
11/3/2011 Document, Report, or Work plan Review - other Reviewed Contaminated Tundra Corrective Action Plan for Tract 21. Further investigation indicated areas of significant sheen on surface water which, along with field screening was used to delienate the extent of hydrocarbon contamination in tundra troughs in the area south of the main pad. Approximately 750 cy of contaminated sediment will be excavated from the tundra troughs then backfilled with gravel and clean organic overburden. Contaminated material will be stored over winter then treated at AIC in 2012. Bill O'Connell
6/22/2012 Document, Report, or Work plan Review - other Reviewed Schlumberger Tract 21 Contaminated Tundra Remedial Action Report. The report details the excavation of approximately 820 cubic yards of contaminated tundra material from thermokarst troughs along the southern edge of the pad. Excavation was generally conducted to 12 inches bgs, but to 18 inches bgs in some discrete areas. Activities were conducted in April, 2012 when the material was still frozen and guided by data collected during previous investigations and by field screening with a PID. Following excavation, both composite and discrete confirmation samples were collected from the bottom and sidewalls of the excavated areas. DRO was detected up to 360 mg/kg. The area was backfilled with gravel to near tundra grade, then topped with organic overburden to facilitate natural revegetation. Bill O'Connell
