Description
A-Frame Services is located at Mile 304 of the Parks Highway in Nenana. Site assessment activities in 1991 indicated that petroleum contamination existed in the soil and groundwater near the UST system. In 1993 the UST system was removed, contaminated soils were excavated and treated, and a passive ventilation system was installed within the excavation.

Current Status
Groundwater monitoring efforts since 1992 indicate that the contaminated plume is stable and decreasing in concentration. A grant for continued monitoring through 2003 and subsequent closure of this site is being requested.

Public Health and Environmental Concerns
Petroleum and solvent contamination has been found in the soil and groundwater near the former UST system. A drinking water well is located at this facility but sampling efforts to date have not detected contaminants above Maximum Contaminant Levels.
