2016 DEC Proposed Regulations & SIP - Fairbanks North Star Borough Fine Particulate Matter (PM2.5)

DEC adopted regulations and amendments to the State Implementation Plan (SIP) to address Fine Particulate Matter (PM2.5) within the Fairbanks North Star Borough (FNSB) Nonattainment Area. The regulations incorporate elements of local FNSB ordinances into the SIP to comply with federal Clean Air Act requirements. The public review period lasted 56 days and included open houses in Fairbanks and North Pole and hearings in Fairbanks, Anchorage, and Juneau. DEC considered all comments received during the comment period when choosing to adopt the final regulations and SIP amendments. The proposed and adopted regulations and SIP amendments are posted below. The adopted regulations and SIP amendments went into effect on November 26, 2016.
