Extended Public Notice

 

The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) is extending the public notice period for the proposed Air Quality Control Minor Permit AQ0035MSS02 to Tesoro Alaska Petroleum Company (Tesoro) for the Kenai Refinery, Kenai, Alaska.  Tesoro has requested that the Department modify and rescind certain Title I provisions contained in Operating Permit AQ0035TVP01 Revision 5.  The Department has rescinded and removed a condition associated with measuring the concentration of BTX in the groundwater for the air strippers.  This action is classified as needing a minor permit under 18 AAC 50.508(6), as it revises or rescinds the terms of Title I permit.  The department has extended the public comment period through 5:00 p.m. on March 31, 2008.

This project complies with all applicable requirements of 18 AAC 50.  ADEC is issuing this preliminary permit decision under AS 46.14 and 18 AAC 50.
