AIR PERMIT PROGRAM

AIR PERMITS WORK GROUP MEETING

The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) chartered a work group consisting of entities or persons interested in DEC's management of the federally mandated Title V Air Permit Program in Alaska. The work group consists of members from regulated industries, citizen advisory committees and DEC. The work group will make recommendations for improving the Title V Program in Alaska. These recommendations could include ideas for simplifying the program, making it operate more efficiently, adjusting fees required to support the program or other changes to the state effort.

The work group activities are open to the public. A Work Group meeting will be held October 2, 2003, 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Loussac Library, 3600 Denali Street, Anchorage, Alaska.

The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the planned future changes to the department’s air quality permit regulations required by state statute. The changes will include rewriting permit programs for both major and minor stationary sources.

If you are a person with a disability who may need special assistance to participate, please contact Shelly Betlej at (907) 269-7577 or by email at Shelly_Betlej@dec.state.ak.us as soon as possible to make necessary arrangements.
