AIR PERMIT PROGRAM
AIR PERMITS WORK GROUP MEETING

The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) chartered a work group consisting of entities or persons interested in DEC's management of the federally mandated Title V Air Permit Program in Alaska . The work group consists of members from regulated industries, citizen advisory committees and DEC. The work group will make recommendations for improving the air quality permit program in Alaska . These recommendations could include ideas for simplifying the program, making it operate more efficiently, adjusting fees required to support the program or other changes to the state effort.

The work group activities are open to the public. A work group meeting will be held February 23, 2004 , 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM in the first floor conference room at the Department's offices, 555 Cordova Street , Anchorage , Alaska . If more time is needed, the meeting will continue from 8:30AM until NOON on February 24, 2004 .

The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the proposed changes to the Department's Air Quality Permit regulations required by state statute. The changes were proposed on January 30, 2004 , and include rewriting permit programs for both major and minor stationary sources.
