Ms. Dalcher has worked the past year with the Program's Title V Section and previously managed Steigers Corporation Alaska Office and the U.S. Army Alaska Field Office for the Center for Health Promotion and Preventive Medicine.

NEW Guide for Burning Waste in Rural Areas June 3, 2004 – Juneau – The Departments of Environmental Conservation and Community
and Economic Development, Alaska Energy Authority, announce publication of
Burning Garbage and Land Disposal in Rural Alaska, a resource guide for communities and others considering incineration as part of their waste management program. The publication contains useful information on how to burn garbage efficiently, the potential for recovering energy, and warns of pollutants that can be produced when waste is not burned properly.
It also provides best management practices for siting and managing an effective burn operation and includes a product guide to incinerators available for small-scale waste treatment. The publication is available at the DEC Solid Waste Program web site: www.dec.state.ak.us/eh/sw/index.htm
