Problems/Comments

Jet A fuel spill in Tok 8/26/90 at Tok tank farm on private land due to careless truck driver filling tanker truck. Approximately 90 cubic yards of contaminated soil was taken to Tanacross Airfield and placed in a lined dike. Stockpile is no longer covered. Extent of contamination appears restricted to stockpiles. GW 70' below ground surface. Incident happened during Tok Fire 1990. Cross Ref file# 130.02.010. Former file no. 170.38.029. (rpltr3) Last staff assigned were Hung and Palmieri. VCP site.

3/20/1996 Cleanup Plan Approved (Old R:Base Action Code = CAPR - Corrective Action Plan Review (LUST)). Reviewed 6/14/95 stockpile sampling results and researched history of impartial 3rd party request. DRO levels still high. Range is 915 ppm to 1,395 ppm. Sent guidelines for cleanup of contaminated soils and options to consider re-cleanup of soils to meet ADEC cleanup levels. Eleanor Hung

Wrote letter to RP re-3rd party waiver given by Anchorage Office and sampling conducted 6/14/95 exercised that waiver. Confirmation sampling for final closure needs to be done by impartial 3rd party.
