Problems/Comments
Limited historical information is available regarding the Former City Power House. Reports prepared in 1995 and 2004 indicate the facility was in operation prior to 1979, but the dates of operation and details about associated fuel storage tanks are unknown. The structure was reportedly destroyed during the 1994 flooding event. At the time of the site visit, the former power house location consisted of a vacant gravel pad with visible sections of pipeline on and west of the pad. The gravel surface was mounded and showed signs of recent disturbance. Soil sampling identified diesel range organics (DRO) above the migration-to-groundwater cleanup level in three primary samples and one duplicate, with a maximum concentration of 1,620 mg/kg.
