Problems/Comments

In 1998, a previous landowner discovered and reported crushed buried drums on property. ADEC site assessment revealed an open injection well in shop building. ADEC confirmed petroleum discharge to soil at drum area, at injection well, and at former above ground storage tank (AST) area. Lead soil contamination also confirmed at former AST location. On-site groundwater contamination confirmed. Nearby residential wells were sampled with non-detection. On-site groundwater has benzene, styrene, and 1,2-Dichloroethane contamination above cleanup levels. In soil diesel range organics (DRO) ranged 10.6 to 17,200 mg/kg and residual range organics (RRO) ranged 53.9 to 8070 mg/kg at buried drum location. Injection well soil has DRO at 3,840 mg/kg and RRO at 5,580 mg/kg. Former AST location has DRO at 8,980 and 9,280 mg/kg and lead at 1,070 mg/kg.
