2024 Veterinary Services Grant Program (VSGP) Request for Applications

January 11, 2024: Opening of Veterinary Services Grant Program (VSGP) FY 2024 Application Cycle and publishing of 2024 Veterinary Shortage Situation Areas.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) Veterinary Services Grant Program (VSGP) announces the opening of the fiscal year (FY) 2024 application cycle. NIFA anticipates that approximately $4 million in funding will be available in FY 2024 to help mitigate food animal veterinary service shortages in the United States. The goals of the VSGP are to support food animal veterinary medicine through Education, Extension, and Training (EET) funds for accredited schools and organizations and through Rural Practice Enhancement (RPE) funds for veterinary clinics that provide services in veterinary shortage situations. The 2024 Veterinary Shortage Situation areas can be viewed on the Veterinary Services Shortage Situations Map.

As an active VMLRP awardee you can apply to the VSGP-RPE program using the veterinary shortage.

The VSGP Request for Applications is now available. The deadline for VSGP applications is Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 5:00 P.M. EST.
