Spill Responders removing oiled sediments from the flare pit at the BPXA Flow Station 2 Production Facility. Photo Date July 24, 2011. View of the crude oil "bathtub ring" under the flare piping. (Photo date 7/24/2011) View of the final containment. This is the area that was close to the actual leaking pipe. The floating scaffolding in the background is what they used to do the pipe inspection. The liner consisted of a geotextile that was buried along the road and sandbagged along the shore. There is shore seal boom and delta boom as a last resort for sheen control. (Photo date 7/28/2011)

A PENCO Spill Technician lays down the bentonite between the two layers of geotextile material. When the bentonite gets wet, it will create a seal between the two layers of liner. (Photo date 7/28/2011) A PENCO Spill Technician finishing up the gravel cover on the liner. This is a second, smaller area of the spill site. (Photo date 7/28/2011)
