Flint Hills Refinery Oily Water Line
Incident Description
Location
Flint Hills Refinery, North Pole, Alaska
Product/Quantity
The product type was oily water containing less than one percent oil. The exact amount is unknown at this time but FHR estimates 3,020 gallons of oily water was spilled at the refinery.
Cause
The rupture of a 6” oily water line. The cause of the spill is under investigation.
Time/Date of Incident
Flint Hills Refinery reported the spill to ADEC at 10:15 AM November 23, 2009.
