Incident Description
Location South of Edna Bay, Kosciusko Island, approximately 30 miles northeast of Craig, Alaska (Lat. 55 53.13 N. /133 42.6 W.)
Product/Quantity The Coast Guard reported that the vessel had approximately 2,500 gallons of diesel fuel in addition to small quantities of miscellaneous oil and hazardous materials on board at the time of the grounding.
Cause The M/V Captain Jack, a 96.6 ft. passenger charter vessel, grounded after losing power.
Time/Date of Spill 10:00 A.M. , June 9, 2004 . The incident was immediately reported.
