Incident Description
Location TAPS, RGV 32. The location is about 35 miles south of Pump Station 4 at TAPS mile 178.7, south of Atigun Pass.
Product/Quantity Alyeska Pipeline Service Company (APSC) reported that approximately 400-500 gallons of crude oil spilled from the Trans Alaska Pipeline (TAPS) at Remote Gate Valve (RGV) 32.
Cause A loose valve on a 2” threaded o-ring (TOR).
Time/Date of Incident Alyeska Pipeline Service Company (APSC) discovered the spill at 8:20 AM and reported the spill to the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) at the Joint Pipeline Office at approximately 9:10 AM, January 9, 2007.
