Rampart Tanker Fuel Release
|Location||On a road 300 yards west of the Rampart Airport, approximately 150 yards southeast of the Yukon River. (Lat/Long: 65.509017 N, 150.159167 W)|
|Product/Quantity||Diesel fuel. The final volume released has been determined by ADEC responders on-site to be 2,750 gallons. The fuel was released into a birch, aspen and spruce forest.|
|Cause||A bulldozer was pulling a tanker trailer down a snow road to deliver fuel. The trailer went into the ditch and rolled, resulting in extensive damage to the aluminum tank and causing immediate release of the diesel fuel.|
|Time/Date of Incident||The spill occurred at 9:30 p.m. on April 11, 2013, and was reported to ADEC at 12:47 p.m. on April 12, 2013.|
