Location
Tyonek Second Lake, Tyonek is located on the west side of Cook Inlet approximately 43 miles southwest of Anchorage.
Time/Date
The incident happened at 2:30 PM on August 10, 2005, and was reported to ADEC at 4:47 PM on August 10, 2005 by village staff.

Product/ Quantity
Gasoline and related motor fluids. The total amount of product spilled is estimated by village staff to be 20 gallons based on fuel tank capacity of the fire truck.
Cause
The community fire truck’s brakes malfunctioned while parked and rolled into Second Lake releasing gasoline and related motor fluids into the lake.
