Product/ Quantity: The spill size was estimated by Aurora Energy as 124 gallons of turbine oil. Turbine oil is light lubricating oil similar in consistency to sewing machine oil. The Material Safety Data Sheet lists this turbine oil as mineral and is not expected to be toxic to aquatic organisms.
Cause: Rupture in the oil cooler for the #1 turbine. The cause of rupture is still under investigation.
