Frosty Fuels Cold Bay Diesel Spill

- November 3, 2015, at approximately 1:00 p.m. On November 3, 2015 Frosty Fuels, LLC personnel responded to a loud noise in the vicinity of the Cold Bay dock. Upon investigation they observed a ruptured flexible spool coupling on the diesel pipeline discharging diesel fuel onto the tundra, surrounding area, adjacent to shoreline and dock.

- The quantity of product released is unknown. Frosty Fuels LLC reported the facility's pipeline potentially contained about 1,497 gallons of diesel fuel at the time of spool coupling failure.
- Cause
- The investigation into the cause of the spill was conducted by an engineering contractor hired by the PRP. There were several possibilities identified in the investigation report; however, the exact cause was not determined.
