Water Quality Resources

The Nonpoint Source Program supports water quality monitoring to learn if nonpoint source pollution is affecting lakes and waterways and also to learn if water quality is improving after implementing best management practices. We also support watershed planning as a way for communities to identify activities that will protect or restore water quality. For waters that do not meet water quality standards, a Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) calculates pollutant loads and discusses activities that may help improve water quality. Explore below for water quality monitoring field reports, watershed plans, and Total Maximum Daily Load documents.
