Contaminated soil was treated on-site or removed and treated at the Tank Site soil remediation facility. Cumulative risk calculations indicate that risk from all remaining contaminants does not exceed 1 x 10-5 for carcinogens and does not exceed a hazard index of 1 for the non-carcinogenic compounds. The Final Prison Site A, FUDS Closeout Report was approved by ADEC on February 6, 2008. The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) has evaluated the Prison Site "A" for closure. ADEC determined that this site meets the requirements for closure under Method 2 (18 AAC 75.341 Tables Bl and B2, under 40-inch zone), and that no additional cleanup actions are required at this site under the Site Cleanup Rules in 18 AAC 75.38.325-390.
