Problems/Comments

1500 gallon diesel spill through broken underground fuel line on 11/2/90. Initial excavation discontinued at approximately 12 foot depth due to extensive evidence of more widespread contamination. Sampling in bottom of the excavation exhibited approximately 5000 ppm of hydrocarbon contamination. 140.38.008. Last staff assigned was Short. (rpltr7)

2/20/1998 Update or Other Action ADEC received a report from the Department of the Army. According to the report, sampling for 1997 revealed benzene, ethylbenzene, toluene and total xylenes levels in all water samples below the MCLs set forth in 18 AAC 080.70. Total BTEX and benzene levels in the soil were found to be below the Category C cleanup levels. They stated that CRTC will continue to monitor the site until soil cleanup levels are reached.
