Problems/Comments

EPA START team inspected garage area where prior PCB spill and clean-up occurred (1983). Soil samples collected at the southern dump site/burn pit and at the garage building in an area of unstained soil. TPH was detected in 3 of 5 samples ranging from 30-70ppm and PCBs detected in one sample at 290ug/kg. Phase I investigation for entire facility conducted in 1995 by AT&T Alascom identified other areas of concern that were unrelated to former military operations. The garage building was used to store transformers when site was an operating White Alice Communications System facility. 10,000g and 3,000g USTs used by U.S. Air Force to store diesel were removed in 1991, ADEC issued cleanup NFA letter in 1992. 14.42 acre property, 3/4 miles South of Neklason Lake. Drinking water well on site serving one worker. The elevation is ~128 m (419 feet).
