Cleanup Level(s) Approved |
Contaminated Sites staff reviewed and approved a request for an alternative cleanup level for DRO impacted soil at the Cape Newenham Long Range Radar Station. About 300-cubic yards of soil were stockpiled in biocells originating from underground storage tank removals in the late 1990’s. Total organic carbon in the area is over 6%, with the average DRO concentration in the piles at around 800 mg/kg. The responsible party is coordinating with the Solid Waste Section to see about using the contaminated soil as landfill cover |
