| 10/12/2012 | Update or Other Action | In 1992, 110 gallons of aviation gas was spilled at the site from the AST serving to fuel airplanes next to Little Billy Lake. Soil, surface water and lake sediment samples were collected for field and laboratory testing. Petroleum impacted soil was stockpiled at the site, and was aerated. Soil samples and water samples collected at this site have been tested for: aromatic volatile organics using Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) method 8020 and volatile petroleum hydrocarbon EPA method 5030/8015. Action added to database on October3, 2012. | Katrina Chambon |
| 10/12/2012 | Cleanup Complete Determination Issued | Soil, surface water and lake sediment samples were collected for field and laboratory testing in 1992. Forty-six (46) field screening soil samples were collected and six (6) soil samples were collected for laboratory analysis based on the highest field screening data. Two of the 46 field screening samples were collected from the soil stockpile. Soil samples were taken from at depths from 6 to 8 inches and 12 to 14 inches. Soil concentrations for GRO ranged from non-detect to 323 mg/L. Two water samples were collected from Little Billy Lake within five feet of the release area. The only contaminant detected was toluene with a concentration of 0.0021 mg/L, which is below its ADEC 18 AAC 75.345 cleanup level of 1.0 mg/L and below the 18 AAC 70 water quality standard for total aromatic hydrocarbon of 10.0 ug/L. One sediment sample was collected from the lake bottom about 6 inches below the sediment water interface and five feet from the release point, and its analytical results was non detect for volatile petroleum hydrocarbons | Katrina Chambon |
