Problems/Comments
The spill occurred at the Battery #1 Vapor Recovery Building. A heater line ruptured inside the building. Approximately 100 gallons of a 50% water and 50% glycol mixture was released the floor. The product flowed out of the building to the soil outside. Approximately 15 cubic yards of contaminated glycol/crude oil contaminated soil was excavated. The crude oil contaminated soil came from the crude oil spill 1992230125202. There is historical petroleum contamination remaining and the ground water is contaminated. The contaminated soils were shipped to CleanSoils in Anchorage for remediation. Last staff assigned were Twidwell, Krogseng, and Sundet.
