Problems/Comments

In 1992, the excavation and removal of two 2,000-gallon heating oil tanks associated to building 21, left soils with 3,000 to 5,000 parts per million (ppm), DRPH due to difficulties excavating near a waterline and a building. The groundwater is impacted with diesel range organics (DRO) and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX). The extent of contamination is not known. The site also includes the following spill: Spill no. 13309913501. A release of #2 diesel discovered in May, 2013 from a 1,500-gallon underground heating oil tank. The release occurred in the same location as the prior contamination from the former heating oil tanks. Doyon Industrial Facility Building 2 was formerly known as North Star, Inc. Building 21. Site address was previously 705 Bidwill Avenue, and currently is identified as 615-701 Bidwill Avenue.
