Action Information
Action Date | Action | Description | DEC Staff |
---|---|---|---|
10/9/1992 | Update or Other Action | (Old R:Base Action Code = SA1 - Phase I Site Assessment (General)). SA for 1000 gallon waste oil tank 98. 70 cubic yards of dirt removed to EAFB disposal area. 6,100 ppm TPH found in excavated soil. In situ soils remaining are below cleanup levels. Groundwater was not impacted. | Former Staff |
3/18/1993 | Site Added to Database | Petroleum contamination. | Former Staff |
5/20/1993 | Update or Other Action | (Old R:Base Action Code = SA1R - Phase I SA Review (CS/LUST)). COE lab (unapproved) used for some QC samples. Composite samples taken from contaminated stockpiles. Remediation of contaminated soils needs to be addressed. COE review of QA/QC is no substitute for data deliverables. Site placed on HOLD pending information on disposal and remediation of contaminated soils. | Former Staff |
5/27/1993 | Update or Other Action | (Old R:Base Action Code = HOLD - On-Hold Sites). HOLD pending adequate information concerning remediation and disposal of contaminated soils. Groundwater is not impacted. In situ soils are below ADEC level B cleanup levels. | Former Staff |
9/4/1993 | Leaking Underground Storage Tank Corrective Action Underway | Tank was removed and not replaced, oils excavated and corrective action is underway. | Kalu Kalu |
6/20/1994 | Update or Other Action | (Old R:Base Action Code = RPL2 - Site Information Request Letter). Sent PRP-CS Database Notification Letter to RP requesting update and more environmental information concerning contaminated site. RP responded with some updated info. | Jeff Peterson |
12/26/2001 | GIS Position Updated | Worked with Heather Goldman obtaining GIS latitude and longitude from 1:63,300 topographic map. | Heather Goldman |
8/9/2005 | Site Closure Approved | The site consists of one 1,000-gallon waste oil tank that was removed on October 9, 1992. Approximately 70 cubic yards of contaminated soil (with up to 6,100 ppm total petroleum hydrocarbons and 8.5 ppm lead) were removed to a depth of 12 feet below ground surface and ground water was not encountered. Confirmation samples at the base and sidewalls of the excavation were all below soil cleanup standards. Because the tank was removed and confirmation sample concentrations were below ADEC soil cleanup levels, no further action is required for Tank 98 at Building 2375. | Emily Youcha |
7/6/2006 | Update or Other Action | ADEC agreed to decrease sampling of the North Boundary Wells from annual sampling to biennial. Upcoming measurements will be summer 2007, 2009, 2011, etc. Concentrations of VOCs, SVOCs, and metals in the sentinel wells have been monitored annually since 1992 and there has been no detection of contamination. | Emily Youcha |
