Document, Report, or Work plan Review - other |
Date of receipt of Sheen Monitoring report. Observations were made on July 28, 2013 about every ten feet at 84 locations around the perimeter of the pond that is located in between Exxon (N and E of Peak pad) and Peak's pad. First this was done without disturbing the sediment, then a shovel was used. Five locations were observed to have a sheen before disturbance and these were nearly contiguous along the SE potion of the pond at the downgradient end of the pond. Twenty two locations were associated with a petrogenic shovel sheen. |

Document, Report, or Work plan Review - other |
Date of receipt of report entitled 2014 Work at the Pond between Tract 34 and Exxon Pad. Three co-located surface water and sediment samples sets were collected in this area as requested. Water samples were analyzed for TAH/TAqH and the sediment samples for BTEX and DRO. SLR also monitored the pond visually during two events while weekly monitoring was conducted by both Peak and Exxon. No exceedances of TAqH or TAH. DRO in sediment up to 1,230 mg/kg and benzene up to 0.533 mg/kg. Peak and Exxon are requesting that no further sampling or monitoring be required. |

Document, Report, or Work plan Review - other |
Reviewed the report titled Surface Water Sheen Investigation, dated August 25, 2016 for the Exxon North Slope Ops Center site. Activities consisted of sheen observation before and after sediment disturbance. Only sheens biogenic in nature were observed; therefore no samples were collected. It is suspected that the original sheen (observed in 2015) was actually biogenic in nature and not petrogenic. Further monitoring (outside general operations and as noted in the SWPPP) is not required. The status of this site will be changed back to non-qualifying, as it was before the sheen observation report in September of 2015. |
