8/10/2001 Update or Other Action Jaynes site visit week of 7/30/01. Excavated area now used as parking lot/container storage. Excavated soil was incorporated into large biocell on Klawock Heenya land. Inspected biocell with Mike Barron of Klawock Heenya. Consultant has not maintained biocell in a while and appears to have done a poor job maintaining/monitoring cell. Klawock Heenya no longer operates air injection equipment. ADEC inspection of three soil ports showed soils with little contamination and high organics. Klawock Heenya would like to pursue other options for this biocell, such as possible encapsulation. ADEC will actively work with tribe to close out this cell with Klawock Heenya providing reports and data on progress after a new round of biocell sampling. Mike Jaynes
