Problems/Comments
A 500 gallon heating oil tank was removed in early summer 1990. Soil samples collected from unspecified locations showed TPH at 276 and 190 ppm. A large number of unanswered questions about this site are discussed in the correspondence by Gibler to Colonel Murray in mid-January, 1993. (rpltr4)
Action Information
Action Date | Action | Description | DEC Staff |
---|---|---|---|
1/15/1993 | Update or Other Action | (Old R:Base Action Code = CORR - Correspondence (General)). Sent letter to Lieutenant Colonel James C. Murray giving the information. We have for 107.26.014 - .017 and 107.38.081, explaining the information on that ADEC would require to give these sites no further action status. All of these sites represent 1990 tank closing for which only vague sampling information is available in most instances. | Former Staff |
2/4/1993 | Meeting or Teleconference Held | Brent Koenen, Cindy Horn, and John Hellen of EAFB with Gibler and Kalu to discuss 90s tanks closings. Samples were collected from under the fill end of the tanks and from under the center of the tanks. Sketch site maps will be provided showing building and tank locations. Matrix calculations will be done for sites. | Kalu Kalu |
2/12/1993 | Site Added to Database | Heating oil. | Former Staff |
2/23/1993 | Update or Other Action | (Old R:Base Action Code = RPL2 - Site Information Request Letter). Sent PRP-CS database Notification Letter to RP requesting update and more environmental information concerning contaminated site. Department of the Air Force responded with update of requested site information on 3-17-93. | Jeff Peterson |
3/31/1993 | Site Closure Approved | TPH = 29 and 20 ppm. BTEX below detection. 500 gallon diesel tank installed in 1966 and removed in July 1990. 67 cubic yards of contaminated soil removed and thermally remediated. | Don Gibler |
4/14/1993 | Site Ranked Using the AHRM | Initial ranking. | Former Staff |
9/5/2003 | Site Number Identifier Changed | Changed the Workplan from X9 to X1 because there are no hazardous substances present above cleanup levels. | Former Staff |
7/6/2006 | Update or Other Action | ADEC agreed to decrease sampling of the North Boundary Wells from annual sampling to biennial. Upcoming measurements will be summer 2007, 2009, 2011, etc. Concentrations of VOCs, SVOCs, and metals in the sentinel wells have been monitored annually since 1992 and there has been no detection of contamination. | Emily Youcha |
