Problems/Comments

The site is a former residential mobile home complex. Over 100 individual above-ground heating oil tanks and a piped system with a master underground storage tank were removed beginning in the early 1990s. Heating oil served the mobile homes before natural gas became available in the 1970s. Mobile homes were served either by individual aboveground tanks or by the underground piped system that provided heating oil from a single large underground storage tank. Site characterization documented that groundwater contamination remained within the property boundaries with the exception of offsite migration to the southwest of the property that met cleanup standards after long-term monitoring. The site was replatted in 2002 and now comprises Tracts 3-15 of the Alaska Village Subdivision. Tract 4 of the Alaska Village Subdivision (the location of a Walgreens at 7600 DeBarr Rd.)is both a part of the Alaskan Village Mobile Home Park (Former) site and a separate site with site name Tract 4, Alaska Village Subdivision based on the discovery of contamination not associated with the former heating oil delivery systems.
