Contamination discovered during removal of a 5,000 gallon heating oil UST. AK. Technical Environmental Services is the consultant. Last staff assigned were Krieber (2/12/97).

Upon review of the file in August 2012, it was learned that ADEC issued a no further action letter on this site on 11/18/1996. The NFA was based on the Mat-Su Borough Public Works Dept. 10/6/1994 report titled "Underground Storage Tank Removal and Replacement at the Mat-Su Borough Main Administration Building." This report stated that: a non regulated 5,000 gal. UST was removed on 10/1/1994 after 4,995 gal. of fuel was removed; contaminated soil was removed from overfilling incidents of the heating fuel UST to 21 ft bgs with the excavation measuring 24 ft. x 24 ft. wide, and that samples at the bottom of the pit showed 110 mg/kg EPH and 87 mg/kg TPH. The excavated contaminated soil was used as subbase for a road paving project at Wasilla's Bogard Roard in September 1996. | Rich Sundet |
