Problems/Comments
Diesel range petroleum contamination encountered in several soil samples collected from a site assessment for a potential site for two 3,000-barrel above ground storage tanks. The tanks were moved from Tank Setting 1-33 in 1994 to the new location about ½ mile east of the compressor plant and are currently out of service. The two 3,000-barrel above ground storage tanks are referred to as tanks 24 and 27. Site previously worked by the Prevention and Emergency Response Program (PERP). Light non-aqueous phase liquid (LNAPL) recovery and annual groundwater monitoring on-going. Contaminant plume appears stable and not expanding. Under current site conditions, risk to human health and the environment is minimal. Due to facility infrastructure, site cleanup is not feasible. Site cleanup will occur at pad abandonment.
