6/26/2024 CERCLA PA ADEC reviewed the draft 2024 Base USCG Kodiak PFAS Preliminary Assessment (PA) Report and submitted comments to the U.S. Coast Guard. The draft PA effort evaluated both confirmed as well as potential historical AFFF use and/or release locations across the contiguous USCG Base Kodiak as well as other adjacent USCG properties. 11/25/2025 Offsite Soil or Groundwater Disposal Approved ADEC reviewed the Contaminated Media Transport and Treatment or Disposal Form and the supporting laboratory analytical waste characterization reports for seventy 55-gallon drums of PFAS-contaminated soil and water investigative derived wastes that were generated from implementation of the 2025 USCG Kodiak Base-wide PFAS Site Inspection Work Plan at multiple locations and areas of concern within and outside of the continuous Base Kodiak. ADEC submitted approval to the U.S. Coast Guard to conduct offsite transport to and disposal of the wastes at the Clean Harbors Grassy Mountain Landfill Facility located in Aragonite, UT.
