Problems/Comments

Site of five USTs 10517-A, 10588, 10592, 10518-A, and 10582 removed in 1993. 10517-A was used to provide JP-5 fuel to building 10517. USTs 10518-A and 10582 were 3000 gallon tanks at the south end of Building 10518 and were used to provide JP-5 fuel for heating and emergency generator usage. UST 10588 was a 550 gallon tank located on the east site of Building 10517. The fuel tank was used to provide diesel fuel to an engine associated with a paper mulcher. UST 10592 was a 2000 gallon tank east of Building 10194. The UST supplied JP-5 to supply an emergency generator. All tanks were removed. Two additional tanks, ZP-1 and an AST were removed in 1994; these were investigated separately due to a lack of contamination at their locations. The site was retained during the screening process because of their location less than 200 feet away from a downgradient water body; chemical contamination was below other screening levels. A method 4 risk assessment was performed for the site, showing that the concentrations were below risk levels. NOFA selected under SAERA in OU A ROD. The site was removed from the OU A ROD by the OU A ROD Amendment for regulation under 18 AAC 75. NOFA selection was carried through.
