12/14/1992 | Update or Other Action | CAPR; Gibler rejected CAP because extent of contamination was not determined, the matrix score cleanup level is not realistic, and the landspreading proposal is too vague. Proposal called for leaving soil with >2,000 ppm DRPH in situ w/o determining extent of contamination. A North Slope cleanup level of 200 ppm should be used at this site. | Former Staff |
2/23/1993 | Update or Other Action | RPL2; Peterson sent PRP-CS Database Notification Letter to RP requesting update and more environmental information concerning the contaminated site. RP responded with corrections on ADEC site report. | Former Staff |
4/23/1993 | Leaking Underground Storage Tank Cleanup Initiated - Petroleum | LCAU; HUNG: 1,000 gals. diesel fuel UST system excavated 9/9/92. Approx. 43 cubic yards contaminated soil stockpiled on-site. Excavation limited to inaccessibility caused by buried communications cable, buried grounding loop and transformer pad. CAP rejected 3/26/93. Telephone contact 4/23/93 RPCON agrees to sampling plan for stockpiled soil and inaccesssible areas plus a cleanup level of 200 ppm diesel. | Former Staff |
6/6/1994 | Update or Other Action | CORR; Wingerter sent letter informing RP of their financial liability under new ADEC cost recovery policy. State is authorized, under Section 9003(h) of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act to take action on this LUST facility. | Former Staff |
7/22/1995 | Site Closure Approved | CLOS; Tank was removed in 1992, there is some contamination left in the ground, but due to its proximity to the communication lines, it was left in place. NFA. | Former Staff |
11/9/2004 | Update or Other Action | The FAA is preparing to transfer this property back to ADOT&PF. Soil samples were collected on the boundary of this property and the adjacent Lot 7A to confirm that contamination from this property has not impacted Lot 7A. DRO was detected up to 1,310 mg/kg and benzene up to 0.0241 mg/kg. This site was closed in 1995. CS staff prepared a letter reiterating that additional remedial work is not required at this site. Following the property transfer, ADOT&PF plans to expand the airport apron and remaining contamination will be capped with several feet of gravel. | Sharon Richmond |
